Job Title: VoIP Networking Engineer
Reports To: Sunstate Technology Group Operations Manager
Job Description Summary: The responsibilities of the VoIP Networking Engineer include the design, deployment, upgrade and support of VoIP and enterprise and facility network infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design, plan, deploy, upgrade, and provide operational support for an Enterprise deployment of Routers, Switches, and 3CX VoIP Controller.
- Organize, document, and manage a long-term supportable VoIP initiative.
- Provide the required network support for the deployment of infrastructure architecture, processes, and reports.
- Investigate functionality issues related to clients, security, and system configurations.
- Work with sustainment teams in the review, analysis, and resolution of VoIP-related performance issues.
- Perform the required work associated with VoIP network administration, such as the installation and configuration of network infrastructure, the deployment of backup and recovery processes for the network, and the implementation of maintenance processes that ensure the continued stability and performance of network systems.
- Manage and participate in the monitoring, optimization, and diagnosis of currently deployed network systems.
- Provide the appropriate documentation to management, detailing the root cause analysis of outages, performance concerns, and propose resolution and optimization options.
- Work closely with the Manager and the Enterprise Security Architecture Team to plan, design, implement, support, and monitor that the security initiatives are being met for the organization.
- Collaborate with the Systems administrators’ team, Service Leads, and the Enterprise Network Architect to implement, configure, and support the Enterprise Network Infrastructure.
- Assist in the initial capacity analysis, deployment design, and overall system architecture needed to support the clients Network platform and expected support activity.
- Provide the necessary support in the investigation and resolution of system level issues.
Requirements
- S. or B.S. in a degree such as Computer Science, Information Systems or Information Technology or 7 years related experience, 3CX VoIP Communications experience a plus
- 10 Years of Technology Experience (Network, Application, Security)
- SIP Trunking configuration and troubleshooting including SIP/SIPS(TLS), RTP/SRTP, Codecs, Call Routing, etc.
- Session Border Controller experience
- Experience designing and transitioning multiple site migrations
- Troubleshoot high-severity issues as a subject matter expert
- Strong experience in Routing Protocols
- In-depth knowledge of Cisco, WatchGuard, 3CX
- Certification in a current or the latest version of an enterprise version of Cisco Administration.
- 8570 Compliant / CCNA OS cert / WatchGuard Administrator cert
- Coordinate and support the NOC with line range testing prior to launching the new line range.
- Coordinate port requests and assist with the resolution of reported service issues on VoIP, LRN, and porting
- Work onsite supporting client installations and support
- This position requires travel to remote locations and overnight stays
