Tell Congress to Extend the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) The Time is Now!

The ACP is a government program that is making your internet connectivity more affordable, but it is going to run out of money if Congress does not act soon.

As you know, the ACP can be applied to all service plans that we offer so that eligible households can afford broadband connectivity to stay connected for work, school, healthcare, social engagement, and more.

But if funding runs out in early 2024, the program and its benefits go away. Tell Congress to keep the ACP funded so you can continue to have this affordable connection. Congress cannot and should not let this important program expire.

I am writing to you today to stress the importance of Congress providing continued funding for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) as soon as possible. My household relies on this program to pay for broadband service. Without the support provided by this program, my home and many others would struggle to afford a broadband subscription.

The support provided by the ACP program has kept my family online through these difficult economic times. We use it to stay connected to work, school, and healthcare providers, in addition to family and friends. I am thankful for the internet service that ACP has helped me obtain from Cellular One. Without ACP, the reality is we may no longer be able to afford to be connected and that would be an added hardship.

I understand that the current funding for the ACP program is expected to run out soon, and that Congress must provide additional funding to avoid any potential program disruptions. At a time when Americans are facing higher bills and costs from inflation, losing ACP support would be devastating. Additionally, while the federal government’s investment in building new broadband networks in underserved and unserved areas is a critical step forward, we cannot truly close the digital divide in this country without also assisting low-income people to get connected, and stay connected, via the ACP program. Congress cannot and should not let this important program expire.

Please support the bipartisan efforts underway to continue funding the ACP. This program is showing tangible benefits to people like me, while also bringing stable high-speed Internet connectivity to over twenty million households throughout the country.
